West Papua Army Condemns Racist Statement by Colonial Police in Java, Indonesia
From West Papua Army (WPA) Central Press Office in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea Press, WPA condemns recent de-humanizing and beyond the limits of humanity statement by Indonesian police officer towards Melanesian students from West Papua in Eastern Java (Malang and Surabaya) and Central Java (Semarang), Indonesia.
Gen. Amunggut Tabi says such a statement clearly indicates Indonesian people the Nazi of this era. Not many people in the world realize this. The Indonesian government have long practiced apartheid in West Papua and across Indonesia. This is real in the South Pacific, and that Indonesia sees all non-Malays in South Pacific as "non-humans".
What happened in our eyes today is not due to a slip of tongue. This is the truth that is in minds and hearts of all Indonesians, from grassroots to the top officials. This mindset and way of viewing other humans has to be be confronted and counter-acted by all Melanesians, Micronesians and Polynesians in the South Pacific in order to civilize the mind and heart of these Malay - Indos. If not, they will spread this deadly social virus across the globe.
This has been the base for various human rights violations in West Papua and impunity upon human rights violators, limitations of press, freedom of expression since Indonesia invaded and occupied West Papua. This apartheid government and Nazi imagined-society called Indonesia has to be stopped from acting arrogantly and brutally against humanity in West Papua and spreading this virus across the South Pacific.
This clearly shows how Indonesia sees all of us Melanesians, Micronesians and Polynesians. This is also a clear picture that Indonesians' own self-image is not yet fixed. Indonesia is an imagined-society. It is trying to figure out what is Indonesia, who is Indonesia and where is Indonesia among other nations and human race in the world. In fact, the truth is that there is no single human race called Indonesia in this planet Earth, and yet the world recognizes it exists. This "non-existent" and self-imagined-society is now creating problem, acting as Nazi community in our region and performing apartheid policies over West Papua, naming and calling other human beings as non-humans.
West Papua Army fights in defending the dignity and integrity of all black, white, red, green, and any colours as human beings, with the same and equal rights to be fully recognised and treated as fellow human beings. Therefore, we condemn Indonesian Nazi community and apartheid government in West Papua.
